James enjoys both directing and performing. He has acted in many plays, including the National Youth Theatre's production of 'The Threepenny Opera' at the Lyric Hammersmith. While at Edinburgh University he directed many productions, including a devised adaptation of Jean Rhys' novel 'Good Morning Midnight'.
For Kandinsky he has directed 'Radio', for which he was awarded a Commendation for his direction at the NSDF 2007, and 'On Wonderland'. He directed and appeared in 'Enola' and 'The Bird', and appeared in 'The Bee' and 'Chalk'. He is currently writing and directing Limehouse Nights, and is Assistant Director for Posh by Laura Wade at the Royal Court Theatre, London.
